Ravi Sinha Appointed as Chief of Indian Intelligence Agency ‘RAW’

Kathmandu, June 19 : Ravi Sinha has been appointed as the new chief of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), the external intelligence agency of India. The appointment of senior IPS officer Ravi Sinha from Chhattisgarh cadre was made by the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet on Monday.

Ravi Sinha, a 1988 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, was previously serving as the Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs. Now, he will take the position of Samant Goel on 30th June. His tenure will be for two years.

During the previous government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (Atal Bihari Vajpayee), Ravi Sinha had joined RAW from the police service.

Sinha has led several operations in Jammu and Kashmir and northeastern states. He has experience working in countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, and China as well. Currently, Sinha is the second-in-command to Samant Goel, the current chief of RAW.
