PM Prachanda Answers to the MPs : Clearing the site of Nijgadh Airport within a year

Kathmandu, June 23 : Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has informed that there is a plan to clear the site of Nijgadh International Airport within the fiscal year 2080/81. In the question and answer session of the House of Representatives on Friday, the Prime Minister responded to the question raised by the members of parliament.

He expressed commitment to allocate additional budget for national pride projects in case of budget shortages in the events and to operate rail services. He also mentioned that the government is positive towards budget arrangements for national pride events and other priority programs. He said, “The government prioritizes the acquisition and distribution of land for national pride events and other priority programs.”

He further stated, “In the coming days, I will address the concerned authorities along with the necessary budget arrangements.” The Speaker of the House, Dev Raj Ghimire, conducted a direct question and answer program with the Prime Minister on Friday.

Prime Minister Prachanda had also participated in the question and answer program held every month. The Speaker had requested the MPs to submit written questions four days in advance for the question and answer session with the Prime Minister.

Although the scheduled program was arranged, there was chaos in the Parliament due to the mismanagement of the Prime Minister’s office. On Friday, Speaker Ghimire took the name of Nepali Congress MP Anjani Shrestha for questioning on behalf of the Prime Minister. After her turn, she questioned the Prime Minister.

Prior to that, the main opposition party, UML’s Achyut Mani Dixit, and Nepali Congress MP Ajay Chaurasia had asked questions. Prime Minister Prachanda arrived late for the session. The Speaker asked him to take the name of MP Anjani Shrestha for questioning. However, even after not recognizing her, Speaker Ghimire referred to her and made it convenient for the Prime Minister.

But still, there was an awkward situation. When Speaker Ghimire mentioned the name of MP Ambika Basnet, the former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress MP, the Prime Minister seemed uneasy.

The Prime Minister lost MP Basnet’s written question and requested to check the roster. In the process, he mentioned that it happened because he didn’t prepare well.

At the end of the question and answer session, MP Ashok Kumar Chaudhary stared at the Prime Minister. He requested a note to be taken since his name was Ashok Kumar Chaudhary. He raised questions about how and when the border regulations with India would be finalized in connection to his name.
