Socialist Front Decision : Organize formal programs in all provinces

Kathmandu, July 8 : The first meeting of the Socialist Front’s (four-party alliance) has decided to organize public programs in all provinces. The meeting held at the central office of the Unified Socialist Party in AlokNagar, Kathmandu, on Saturday, announced the decision to organize formal programs in the capital cities of all provinces within a few days.

Rajendra Prasad Pandey, the Vice President of the Unified Socialist Party, informed that the decision to organize formal programs in the capital cities of all provinces within a few days was made by disseminating the messages of the Socialist Front throughout the country. “We will conduct programs in all seven provincial capitals. The specific dates for these programs will be announced on the 27th (Asar this month) Our second meeting will also be held on the same day.”

The meeting of the Socialist Front has also formed a four-member task force for the formulation of the Front’s code of conduct, policies, and programs. The task force includes Dev Prasad Gurung, General Secretary of the Maoist Center, Pramesh Hamal, Vice President of the Unified Socialist Party, Rajendra Shrestha, leader of the Janata Socialist Party, and spokesperson Khadga Bahadur Vishwakarma from the CPN (Biplav). The report prepared by the task force will be presented and passed in the meeting of the Front scheduled for the 27th of Ashar.

According to Vice President Pandey, it has been agreed to change the chairmanship of the Front’s meeting every six months.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister and Chairman of the Maoist Center, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Prachanda, Chairman of the Unified Socialist Party, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairman of the Janata Socialist Party, Upendra Yadav, and General Secretary of the NCP, Netra Bikram Chand, along with other 2nd tier leaders.
