Kathmandu July 10 : Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has stated that he does not have the confidence to become the Prime Minister for a long time. Clarifying his controversial statement during the meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday, Prime Minister Prachanda stated that he does not have the confidence to become the Prime Minister for a long time anymore.
“I have already been the Prime Minister twice before, but due to circumstances, the situation to become the Prime Minister again has arisen. When I become the Prime Minister for the third time, there were expectations from the people regarding what I would say or do. I am following those expectations,” he said. “I am aware that I have not been the Prime Minister for a long time, even now. But as long as I am in power, I will work for the people,” he added.
Prime Minister Prachanda also mentioned that he and the current government take the issue of victims of meter byaj’ (as a crime, where loan sharks give loans at high-interest rates to poor people and increase the interest with time) seriously.
“Why did the ‘meter Byaj’ protest continue for a long time? I asked this question in the ruling coalition. I am serious about this matter. Now, even the opposition parties have shown commitment, and after that, the law related to ‘meter byaj’ will be passed by the parliament,” he said.
He also informed that the government, understanding the seriousness of the meter byaj issue, has taken steps forward by bringing laws through an ordinance.
In this context, Prime Minister Prachanda criticized himself for the controversial statement he made about Indian business man Sardar Pritam Singh. However, he stated that he has always been committed to sovereignty.
He told “The question I was asked is about who made me the Prime Minister and who will become the Prime Minister in Nepal. This question has created a lot of emotions and controversies,” said Prime Minister Prachanda. “I take this question seriously as it was asked by the leaders of the opposition party who initially wrote a letter to make me the Prime Minister.”
“I am the only one targeted by this question, or it includes all political parties and the parliament,” said Prime Minister Prachanda.
“I was not supposed to say that. It was not necessary. But I said it because it came to my mind. ” Prime Minister Prachanda said. “It was not appropriate for a Prime Minister to use such language, which is very easy and natural. I should not have spoken like that. ”
