PM wife Sita’s mortal remains lit the funeral pyre with husband Prachanda and two daughters

Kathmandu July 12 : Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, along with his two daughters Renu and Ganga Dahal, performed the last rites of his late wife Sita Dahal as per the Hindu tradition at Pashupatinath Aryaghat. The Prime Minister, along with his daughters, lit the funeral pyre at around 3:30 PM.

Accompanied by Prime Minister Prachanda, Renu and Ganga also fired around the funeral pyre. After paying tribute to the late Dahal at the Maoist Center party headquarters in Paris Danda, the last rites were performed at Pashupati.

To offer their condolences, top leaders and cadres of the Maoist Center, including party leader and activists, reached ParisDanda on Tuesday. Along with them, leaders such as KP Sharma Oli, President of the CPN (UML), Sher Bahadur Deuba, President of the Nepali Congress, former Prime Ministers Madhav Nepal, and Baburam Bhattarai, paid their respects to Sita Dahal at Pashupatinath.

Deputy Prime Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka draped the national flag over Sita’s mortal remains. The army also presented the final salute as a mark of national respect.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s wife Sita passed away on Tuesday morning at the age of 69.
