Kathmandu,July 19 : The parliamentary hearing process for six nominated ambassadors to various countries and missions has commenced as recommended by the government.
On Wednesday, the parliamentary hearing committee meeting held at Singh Durbar initiated the parliamentary hearing process for the nominees for the United Nations in New York, United States, represented by Lok Bahadur Thapa, the permanent representative of Nepal, UN in Geneva, Ram Prasad Subedi; Tej Bahadur Kshetri, the proposed ambassador to the United Arab Emirates; Ghanshyam Lamsal, the proposed ambassador to Kuwait; Dhan Bahadur Oli, the proposed ambassador to Thailand, and Sudhir Bhattarai, the proposed ambassador to France.
The decision to grant a ten-day notice for the submission of evidence and proof of qualifications for the proposed ambassadors and representatives of various missions was taken during the meeting by Secretary Yakram Giri, who chaired the committee.
Once the parliamentary hearing committee approves the nominated ambassadors, the President will appoint them as per the constitutional provision.
