Kathmandu: In Madhya Pradesh, India, the condition of a 12-year-old girl who was a victim of a gang rape is worrisome. The victim is currently receiving treatment at the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, located 70 kilometers away from Maihar, where the incident occurred. The medical team, consisting of seven doctors, found multiple internal injuries after conducting surgery, including marks of torture inflicted by sharp objects.
The incident took place on July 27. Two individuals named Ravindra Chaudhary and Atul Badoliya were arrested in connection with the incident. Some sources say that the victim was begging outside the same temple, while others state that she was selling flowers outside the temple.
According to the police, the information about the incident was received on July 20. The girl had been unconscious in the jungle for about 20 hours before she reached her village with the help of a local woman. After that, the police were informed about the incident.
The local administration demolished the house of the accused on July 29. Divisional Officer Suresh Yadav and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Lokesh Dawar stated that the house of both the accused was illegally constructed on government land.
Regarding this incident, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed his grief, saying, ‘I have received information about the girl’s gang rape in Maihar, and I am deeply saddened by it.’
‘I have directed the police not to spare the culprits under any circumstances. The police have arrested the culprits. I have also instructed the administration to ensure proper treatment for the girl. The culprits will not be spared, and strict action will be taken against them.'”
