Searching for Disruption HoR Again, Not Allowing to Succeed: PM Prachanda

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has stated that the obstruction created by the main opposition UML led by the former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, since July 10 last month is a game to render the current parliament unsuccessful.

During a discussion with an editors t at Baluwatar on Tuesday, he made serious comments about the recent steps taken by the UML.

He mentioned that even though the UML had sought three committee chairpersons from the parliamentary committees for the first time, it has not been able to find a solution. ‘Now they say that the parliament is open, they will reconsider their stance. For the first time, they have given three committee chairpersons to the main opposition. But the parliament is not open,’ he said, ‘There was agreement in Baluwatar, even the Speaker was informed. But when the agreement made in Baluwatar reaches Baneshwor, why has it turned into a conflict?’

He expressed concerns that the issue of Lalita Niwas land case and the possibility of some hard connections being established in the parliament could lead to disruptions.

‘What I see is that the issue of Lalita Niwas land and the parliament not being opened are connected in some way,’ he said, ‘Someone seems to have invested in disrupting the constitution, in breaking the parliament. But that will not be successful.’

Prachanda, who is also the Chairman of the Maoist Center, said that an investigation will be started against the father and son of Vice President Mahara.

“He has given instructions to wiretap Deputy Chairman Mahara and his son,” he said. “Now, wiretapping is advancing in front of his son.”

“Barsaman Pun mentioned that despite Mahara not being found guilty when questioned by the CIB , his name was associated. Then, Prachanda informed the CIAA about his statement. Now, the CIB has started using Mahara as a respondent to pursue the issue.”

“The CIB mentioned that this issue would be resolved more quickly if Mahara was brought into the process rather than dragging it like in Pun. The Prime Minister has said that his stance is clear and that no one played any role in Mahara’s rehabilitation.

Mahara, who is also the former speaker, and his son Rahul are involved in gold smuggling with Chinese citizen Wang. It has been revealed that both of them had more than 234 phone calls with Wang, a Chinese citizen involved in gold smuggling in Nepal through e-cigarettes.

On the other hand, Mahara reached home district Dang on Tuesday and clarified that the businessman Wang, who is said to be involved in gold smuggling, is a fruit trader.

He also said that since he is a fruit trader, he himself took it to Rolpa and Dang. He claimed that he did not contact him on the phone.
