Government misleading the populace over the Lalitaniwas land fraud: Chair Lingden

Kathmandu: The President of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Rajendra Prasad Lingden, has claimed during a ruling coalition meeting about the Baluwatar land scam case that the ruling coalition has decided to make the incident a political issue even though the Supreme Court has ordered an investigation.

Addressing the Changunarayan Municipality Convention held in Bhaktapur on Friday, President Lingden stated that even though the government is misleading the public and claiming to work against major corruption, he criticised the government’s actions. He also stated that if the situation in the country continues to deteriorate as it is now, Mission 084(Next Election) may come into play. He questioned whether the 2027 elections would take place in such circumstances.

President Lingden also mentioned that the lower-level employees of the government were being used to carry out significant anti-corruption activities and criticised the government’s actions. He said, “There may be some confusion in some individuals, whether this government is working effectively or not. Today, individuals who invest their money, give orders, arrest individuals, keep them under surveillance, and even appoint the head of the Cabinet have been ignored by the government’s orders. The court has given a stern order. It’s the court’s order that matters, not the person who invests the money, gives orders, or appoints the head of the Cabinet. Is this a government? He raised the question.”

Regarding the investigation into the fake Bhutanese refugee case, President Lingden’s statement is, “If the responsibility for the real investigation is taken, that file will move forward and will force those police officers who have created obstacles to be suspended within two to three days. There is a plan to make that file public. It seems like there is an attempt to display a show against corruption on one hand and protect corrupt individuals on the other, and such a plan has been made in the government. A plan has been devised to create chaos in the country.”
