UML’s direction: Except Puspalal, Manmohan, and Madan Bhandari, only Oli’s photo should be used

Kathmandu: The Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist (UML) has directed to use photos of only three top leaders, including the party chairman, in its party programs.

In an internal party directive sent by the central office on Friday, guidelines have been provided on the use of photos in public programs, seating arrangements, and stage management. The directive mentions that unnecessary photos of leaders and workers from various levels have been used in public programs, and now, starting from the party and organizational programs, photos other than the three top leaders should not be used.

CPN-UML will now only use photos of the three senior leaders ‘Founding General Secretary Pushpalal Shrestha, People’s Leader Madan Bhandari, and Former Chairman Manmohan Adhikari’ in its programs, apart from Chairman K.P. Oli.

The party has decided to end the tradition of using the stage for a prolonged time during programs and keeping guests and speakers visible for a longer period. It has also directed not to use interest, garlands, and unnecessary extravagance.

In the directive, CPN-UML has mentioned that leaders who were involved in rebellious activities during elections criticized themselves, renewed their membership, and made decisions, including taking action within the committee’s jurisdiction, against those involved in anti-party activities.

“The committee will take action against those involved in sabotage and anti-party activities in accordance with the directive,” the statement mentions.
