Kathmandu: The political parties have stated that they are against the attack on Mahendra Yadav, joint secretary of the Congress, in the Parliament. Political party leaders claimed that Shyam Bahadur Sapkota of Nuwakot had been exploited to criticize the political system and that political parties that supported a democratic republican system had also been targeted.
“It has been demanded from the government to conduct an investigation into the incident where a Khukuri (traditional Nepali knife) attack was carried out on political leaders, claiming that it was done for an attack on the government itself.
During the meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, the leaders of the ruling Nepali Congress and the Maoist party Maoist, along with prominent members of the opposition party expressed their opposition to the attack that took place on Nepali Congress Deputy General Secretary Yadav in Kathmandu on Wednesday. They have called for the government to investigate the incident thoroughly and provide information to the parliament regarding any involvement behind the incident. Even Congress Deputy GS Yadav, who is a member of the Constituent Assembly, has demanded that the Khukuri attack incident be taken seriously and investigated by the government.”
Congress Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak has expressed dissatisfaction with the construction of artificial rhetoric about old political parties and has sought to create a narrative of attacking them. He said, ‘There is no consensus among the Nepali people for a federal democratic republican system with a knife or any other such actions. By attacking Congress, CPN-Maoist, and other federal democratic republican political parties, they are doing more harm than good. If anyone wants to exit this country, they will be daydreaming.'”
