Kathmandu, Oct 11: International Day of the Girl Child is being observed across the globe including in Nepal today by organising various programmes. The theme of the Day for this year is “Invest in Girls’ Rights: Our Leadership, Our Well-being”. The Day is observed annually. Various programmes on the themes of empowerment of girls, their leadership development and security have been scheduled in Nepal to observe the Day. On the occasion of the Day, Children as Zone of Peace National Campaign (CZOP) facilitated a programme on the girls’ takeover in governance sector. According to Campaign general secretary Tilottam Poudel, an interaction programme on the rights of girls was also held.
