DPM Shrestha stresses on making economic diplomacy effective

Beijing (China), Oct 17: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, has directed the Nepali Embassy in People’s Republic of China to make the economic diplomacy effective.     

In course of visiting the Nepali Embassy in Beijing, China, DPM Shrestha said the economic diplomacy is significant in country’s prosperity.     

“Nepal is moving ahead making the country’s economic development and prosperity as the main agenda. Political achievements might be in risk if this agenda cannot be fulfilled in a right way. So the agenda of prosperity might be fulfilled at any cost. The Embassy should mobilize economic diplomacy for the same”, he mentioned.     

DPM Shrestha shared that the Nepali Embassy should contribute to make country’s prosperity and economic diplomacy effective further strengthening the traditional good relations existing between China and Nepal.     

He argued that the incumbent government has put prosperity, good governance and social justice in priority.     

Stating that the incumbent government has become comparatively successful in the activities of adopting independent foreign policy and forwarding diplomacy in a balanced way, he viewed that it has been moving ahead with a target of establishing good governance resolving the problems seen in economy and expediting the economic development process.     

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed on achieving diplomatic supremacy by adopting independent foreign policy.     

Similarly, Nepali Ambassador to China, Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, expressed the belief that the high-level visit would further strengthen relations between the two countries, adding the visit has built the environment of trust between the two countries.     

On the occasion, DPM Shrestha participated in the luncheon organised at the Embassy. Employees at the Embassy were also present on the occasion. (RSS)
