Kathmandu: United Nations Secretary-General Guterres has arrived in Nepal for a 4-day visit. He arrived in Nepal this morning at 1 o’clock.
Foreign Minister Narayan Prakash Saud welcomed Secretary-General Guterres at Tribhuvan International Airport.
His visit to Nepal was previously scheduled for the second week of October, but it was postponed due to the armed conflict between Israel and Hamas on October 7.
During his participation in the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda invited him to visit Nepal.
While in Nepal, Guterres will hold high-level political discussions today. He will meet with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and President Ramchandra Poudel.
Secretary-General Guterres is also scheduled to visit Lumbini and Pokhara.
