PM to address the nation today

Kathmandu, Dec. 26:  Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda is set to address the nation on Tuesday. According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, he will be addressing the nation from 5:00 pm. He is scheduled to address the nation, marking the completion of one year since he assumed the office, the PM’s Secretariat informed. 

Although earlier Prachanda led two governments, he was unable to complete a year in office on both occasions.  But this time, he is completing a year on Wednesday.   Puspa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, the Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre), was appointed as the Prime Minister on December 25, 2022.  Earlier, he had served as Prime Minister in 2008-9 and again in 2016-17. Speaking at a programme on December 22, Prime Minister Prachanda said that he would talk about the progress of the government during his address.

He had also expressed his commitment to addressing the nation on December 26 prioritising people’s concerns starting from December 27. He further said that he would call the ministers at Singha Durbar to closely examine their works.  He also expressed his intention to reshuffle the cabinet, removing some ministers who have not performed up to satisfactory standards.
