Local levels should deal with people’s problems: Gurung

Waling, Dec. 29: Dhanraj Gurung, Minister for Federal Affairs, Justice and Law, has said that the local government should directly deal with the problems of the citizens. 

“After we adopted the federal system, the local levels have received many rights and responsibilities, and they should be continuously connected with the citizens,” said Minister Gurung while addressing a  programme organised in Chapakot Municipality on Thursday. 

“The current government is committed to fulfilling the basic needs of the citizens including education and health,” said Minister Gurung.

Chapakot Municipality has started a campaign to provide health services to its citizens by reaching the village areas. Deb Bahadur Khand (Ishwor), Mayor of Chapakot Municipality, informed that the purpose of running a large-scale free health camp was to solve the health-related problems of the citizens of the village area.

Mayor Ishwor informed that a team of health workers were deployed in the village area to make the service easily accessible to the citizens. “An agreement has been signed with the healthcare workers to conduct health camps in all wards of Chapakot Municipality,” he added.

Dhruv Khanal, Chief District Officer of Syangja district, said that free health check-ups, video X-rays, ECG, eye tests, dental tests, facilitation for family planning and blood and urine tests were provided at the camp.
