Health Ministry urges to adhere health safety standards in crowds

Kathmandu, Jan 3: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has urged denizens to adhere to the health safety standards in crowded spaces.

“Saying that the new sub-variant JN.1 is spreading swiftly in the neighbouring countries, therefore, there is a need to be vigilant around it,” said the Ministry. 

Issuing a press release, Dr Prakash Budhathoki, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), has urged using masks in public places, maintaining physical distance and paying special attention to hygiene. 

According to him, the new variant, JN.1, has not been detected so far in Nepal. 

Dr Budhathoki said that necessary inspection is being carried out at the health desks, health institutions providing health services and all respective agencies in line to stop the sub-variant from entering the country. 

He assured that all necessary preparations are underway to manage COVID-19 even if the new variant enters the country.
