No need to stress in investment agreement with India

Kathmandu, Jan 10: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said that there is no need to stress much about the agreement with India that allows the Indian Embassy to spend Rs 200 million directly in Nepal.

In a meeting of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee that was held in Singha Durbar on Wednesday, the PM said that there is no such provision in the recent investment agreement that enables India to choose or implement a project unilaterally.

The PM said, “There is no such provision in the recent agreement with India, which allows India to select or implement projects unilaterally. Along with this, the Nepal government will have a hand in reviewing the project update as well as doing regular inspections of the status of the project. Therefore, we do not need to stress out on other aspects of the project.”

PM Prachanda assured that decision-making power is in the hands of the mechanisms of the government of Nepal.”
