Banepa ward chair arrested with Rs 1.5 mln bribe

Kathmandu, Jan 18: A team of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) arrested Nripesh Bade, ward chair-9, Banepa Municipality, Kavrepalanchowk, on Wednesday evening for Rs 1.5 million money embezzlement. 

It has been said that ward chair Bade was arrested while taking a bribe from a service receiver to recommend a pavement to home by a  CIAA team. 

Japanese Yein 10,000, US Dollar 100 and a car were recovered from ward chair Bade by CIAA.  

Narahari Ghimire, Spokesperson at the CIAA, said that Bade was arrested from Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-3, Gathaghar, Bhaktapur, while taking a bribe, on Wednesday night and further investigation on the matter is underway.
