Government’s target to increase revenue: Finance Minister Mahat

Bara, Jan 22: Minister of Finance Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat said that the government aims to give ample facilities to its people and increase the revenue of the country.

In a stoke at Simraunagadh Chhoti Custom Checkpoint, Santaganbj, Subarna Rural municipality, Bara on Monday,  Dr Mahat said, “We will slowly expand this checking point and develop the needed infrastructure in such a way that it becomes a medium to fulfill the basic needs of the local people. The role of the local bodies is significant in managing the Nepal-India border.”

He said, “The government is making efforts to make the life of the locals easy, in commute and on buying and selling of goods and materials. We need to discuss this with India as well. If it’s two-way, then it will take form and expand.” 

Saying that Bara district is important for food and industrialization, he said, “To make Bara district an industrial corridor, the government has prioritized making Nijgadh Airport.” 

 “The importance of the Bara district will strengthen with the formation of the Nijgadh Airport. The majority of the roads in the district have been already built. There will be no problem with irrigation after the marine Sunkoshi diversion is built. After this, agriculture, industry, and business will fortify,” He said.
