Constitutional compliance, shared responsibility: PM Prachanda

Kathmandu, Jan 25: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said compliance with the Constitution and institutionalization of a federal democratic republic was the responsibility of all State apparatuses and stakeholders.    


Prime Minister Prachanda said this at a discussion with the office-bearers of the Society of Former Justices at PM’s residence in Baluwatar this morning.    


At the meeting with Chairperson of the Society Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and other former justices, Prime Minister Prachanda highlighted the crucial role of ex-justices to promote constitutional compliance when some people and organizations are trying to foil social harmony in the country.    


The PM also called for the ex-justices to keep a vigil on the compliance of the constitution and laws in the coming days as well while lauding their watchdog roles when there were assaults on the constitution and laws.    


Noting that the persons bearing responsible positions of the State should not take decisions on whimsical opinions expressed on social media, PM Prachanda said decisions should be made in full compliance with the constitution and law.  

  
According to the PM secretariat, the ex-justices recommended the PM paly a role in consolidating the existing system and enhancing compliance with the constitution and laws. (RSS)
