Jumla, Feb. 13: Jumla-Surkhet-Nepalgunj Scorpio transport service has begun.  One passenger has to pay  Rs. 2,500 to reach Nepalgunj from Jumla while the differently-abled people enjoy a 50 per cent discount on the fare.

Passengers have been attracted to the service after they enjoy the facility at a reasonable price. Karnali Himchituwa Transport Pvt. Ltd. has begun the service. 

The Scorpio can transport nine passengers at once. Similarly, Tila Karnali Transport Entrepreneur Association has also begun the Jumla-Kathmandu night bus transport service. The bus carries 32 passengers. 

President of Karnali Himchituwa Transport, Jumla, Bindas Rawal said that they were providing the Scorpio service to Surkhet and Kalikot with 50 per cent discount on the fare to the differently-abled people.  

According to Rawal, it costs Rs. 2,500 to travel from Jumla to Surkhet and Rs. 3,150  to Nepalgunj.  

He said that 28 Scorpio vehicles were providing the service in Karnali area under the ‘Visit Karnali’ programme. According to Rawal, 50 per cent discount will be provided to only the disabled persons. 

Nanda Raj Dhital, a disability rights activist, thanked Karnali Himchituwa Pvt. Ltd. for giving 50 per cent discount I fare to disabled people by the Scorpio vehicle.  According to the National Census 2078, the population of Jumla is 118,349 and 2.4 per cent of them are differently able.
