Textbooks for community schools arrive in Taplejung

Taplejung, Mar. 31: School textbooks have arrived in the Taplejung district before the commencement of the new academic session. Federation of Nepal Book and Stationery Business, Taplejung, brought the book to the district.

This year, the textbooks for grades one to 10 of community schools arrived in the district two weeks before the beginning of the new academic session. 

Gyan Prasad Mishra, district president of the Federation, informed that 22,000 sets of textbooks for grades one to 10 have arrived in the district. 

Among them, there are 15,000 sets of textbooks for Nepali medium classes for Rs. 1,500 per set. Additionally, there are 3,500 sets of English medium textbooks for grades one to seven and another 3,500 sets of Limbu language Anipan books for grades one to seven.

Mishra said that the sales and distribution of books will start from coming Monday.

Dinesh Bhattarai, the chief advisor of the Federation, said that the Federation has procured textbooks to distribute them to schools before the beginning of the new academic session. He also mentioned that the entire set of books is available for all classes this year, without missing any book on any subject.

The Federation has bought textbooks for community schools from Janak Education Material Centre Limited, Biratnagar, and has confirmed that this year, the prices of textbooks will remain the same as the last year.

Meanwhile, the students, teachers and parents were happy to hear the news of the timely arrival of textbooks this year.  

Currently, there are 330 community schools in the district. According to Yogeshwar Bhattarai, Head of Education Development and Coordination Unit in Taplejung, out of these, 61 are secondary-level schools.

Bhattarai informed that the remaining schools are basic-level schools, ranging from grades one to three, one to five, and one to eight. 

Around 20,000 students are studying in these public schools, the Unit informed.
