Exit polls predict comfortable majority for BJP-led NDA, INDIA bloc trails

India Election Exit Poll 2024 : The much-anticipated exit poll results for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is live now. The six-week-long general elections ended today as citizens cast ballots in the last phase of voting on Saturday. The 2024 Lok Sabha elections spanned over seven phases starting April 19, wrapped today after the voters in 57 constituencies across eight states and Union territories cast their votes. Polling for the remaining 42 assembly constituencies of Odisha is also being held today. The Election Commission will count the votes on June 4.

ndia Today-Axis My India poll study has predicted BJP’s massive gain in Karnataka, the state it lost to the Congress just few months back. The BJP-led NDA may win over 350 of the 543 seats in the Lok Sabha, however, it may not cross the 400-mark, as per the poll predictions. Meanwhile, India TV-CNX poll said the Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP and the NDA is likely to sweep Andhra Pradesh polls.

Different pollsters, such as India Today-Axis My India, Today’s Chanakya, Times Now-ETG, C-Voter and CSDS-Lokniti, are releasing exit polls predictions for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 today.

The 2019 exit poll results forecast a huge win for the BJP with VMR-Times Now predicting 306 seats for the BJP and 132 for Congress. IPSOS News 18 predicted 336 seats for the saffron party and 82 for Congress. The 2019 Lok Sabha results witnessed BJP securing 303 seats and Congress, 52 seats.

Meanwhile, the 2014 polls were largely successful in gauging public sentiment, correctly forecasting a robust showing by the BJP-led NDA, which secured a majority with 282 seats. However, the 2009 and 2004 elections saw significant discrepancies between exit poll predictions and actual results.

The 2024 Lok Sabha elections have shaped up to be a fierce battle between two major alliances: the BJP-led NDA and the Congress-led INDIA bloc. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s NDA alliance is determined to secure a third consecutive term in power, while the INDIA bloc is working tirelessly to orchestrate an upset victory. The outcome of this high-stakes election will have far-reaching implications for the nation’s political landscape.
