Kathmandu: The Rastriya Swatantra Party has raised questions regarding the transfer of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Manoj KC of the Special Bureau at the Nepal Police Headquarters.
Speaking during Sunday’s emergency session, Member of Parliament Hari Dhakal accused the new coalition government of transferring KC to hide its dishonesty.
“How was an excellent public servant like DIG Manoj KC transferred? It was done within two days of receiving the vote of confidence. Why and for what reason? We had said this coalition was formed with a particular purpose, and the transfer was made for that same purpose,” he stated.
He claimed that since the coalition was formed between Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, various controversial individuals have been appointed from the expansion of the cabinet.
“We knew the objectives of this government. Now it is starting to show. Those involved in investigations or who should be investigated were rewarded with ministerial positions,” he said. “Individuals accused of being gang leaders, extortionists, and human traffickers have been given responsibilities in provincial ministries.”
question to Bishwaprakash
MP Dhakal also questioned Congress General Secretary Bishwaprakash Sharma, recalling his previous statement on the transfer of an inspector on 10th Ashad.
“Congress General Secretary had posted on 10th Ashad to disprove a false narrative,” he said. “Can you speak about the transfer of DIG Manoj KC? In this house, you cannot.”
At that time, General Secretary Sharma had stated from the parliament, “Suryabahadur Magar was working in the Crime Investigation and Control Branch of the District Police Office, Kaski. The Suryadarshan Cooperative, which the Home Minister owned, is also in Kaski. Suryabahadur was the inspector investigating there. He was removed prematurely. Suryabahadur reported on 8th Bhadra 2080. He was transferred to Mahottari by the decision of 26th Baisakh. Standing on this rostrum, he said he would not use the police for personal purposes. Can the Home Minister use this rostrum to lie or not?”
