Baglung flood death toll reaches three

Dhorpatan (Baglung), Sept 6: The body of 20-year-old Kamal Sapkota of Bandre Adhaithar, Baglung Municipality-4, who had been missing in a flood in the Bandrekhola rivulet, has been found. 

With this, the number of people killed in the flood has reached three. Sapkota’s body was found 500 metres from the incident site, said Sub-Inspector Pratap Poudel at the District Police Office.

In the incident that took place at 12 midnight on Thursday, a motorcycle (Dha. 2 Pa. 8010) and a scooter (Dha. 1 Pa. 9996), were swept away. Arjun Sapkota, 23, and Avishek Regmi, 22, of Baglung-4 died in the incident while 20-year-old Kamal Sapkota had gone missing. The scooter and motorcycle were going towards Malika from Kudule at the time of the incident.     

The bodies of Arjun and Avishek were recovered about 200 meters downstream of the river last night.     

Kamal Sapkota’s body has been taken to the Dhaulagiri Hospital for a post-mortem. (RSS)
