Kathmandu, Sept. 6: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has paced up to increase the number of proper football grounds throughout the country. For the purpose, the ANFA has been busy signing agreements with concerned stakeholders in the past few days.
“The ANFA Executive Committee meeting on August 27 and 29 decided to allocate budgets for football grounds in different parts of the country. We are signing agreements with local stakeholders to implement the plans,” said Suresh Shah, spokesperson for the ANFA.
As per the Executive Committee decisions, the ANFA has allocated 100,000 USD each for football grounds in Saptari, Kavrepalanchowk and Lalitpur districts. Similarly, 100,000 USD each is said to be spent for technical development centres in Sindhupalchowk and Kailali districts.
Likewise, the ANFA has sidelined 33,406 USD to upgrade Buddhi Bikash Football Ground of Lalitpur and 500,000 USD to construct physical infrastructure in Dhading, Makwanpur and Jumla districts among others.
Of the above-mentioned projects, the ANFA has signed agreements with stakeholders from Sindhupalchowk, Kavrepalanchowk and Kailali.
ANFA President Pankaj Bahadur Nembang signed an agreement with Sindhupalchowk’s Setidevi Sharada Secondary School’s chairman Ishwari Timalsina at the ANFA Complex in Lalitpur on Thursday.
As per the agreement, which was signed in coordination of Sindhupalchowk District Football Association, the ANFA will support upgrading the football ground at the premises of the school. Sunkoshi Rural Municipality chairman Tapendra Prasad Timalsina was also present in the signing ceremony.
A day ago, on Wednesday, Nembang signed another agreement with Dhulikhel Municipality Mayor Ashok Kumar Byanju. As per the agreement, Dhulikhel Khel Maidan will be transformed into a football ground with artificial grass.
Similarly, on August 31, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Gopal Hamal arrived in Lalitpur to sign an agreement for the Football Technical Development Centre in Kailali.
“Dhangadhi is providing five bighas of land for the Centre. While the ANFA will allocate 100,000 USD, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolis can add further amount to improve the standard of the Centre,” said Shah.
Shah informed that the ANFA will be signing more agreements in the upcoming days that will focus on creating more quality football grounds nationwide.
