Kathmandu, Oct.2: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has requested to be on high alert as there is the possibility of heavy rainfall in some places of Bagmati, and Koshi province from Wednesday.
Spokesperson of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority Dr. Dijan Bhattarai has urged all to exercise action and to be highly vigilant as the possibility of rain continues till October 4.
Issuing a press release Deputy Secretary of NDRRMA Bhattarai said, “There is still a risk of large landslide as the land in many places is loose because of the incessant downpour since September 26 and even little rain can cause landslide. Along with this, the probability of sudden floods in any river also remains high.”
The Authority has asked to travel with caution and said to stop the vehicle in a safe place and only proceed with raveling and measuring the risk.
Along with this, exercising high precautions considering sudden flooding in settlements along the river banks and people from places prone to landslide areas to relocate safer areas is requested in the press release of NDRRMA.
