Biratnagar, Nov 10: Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Hikmat Kumar Karki has expressed the belief that tolerance and goodwill can be fostered amidst the religious, social and cultural diversity by adhering to the Mahaguru Falgunanda’s precepts and teachings.
Chief Minister Karki expressed this in a message of best wishes he gave on the occasion of the 140th birth anniversary of Mahaguru Falgunanda, a guru and preacher of the Kirant faith, today. He emphasized on following the righteousness that the Mahaguru Falgunanda, an advocate of non-violence, truth and an epitome of virtue, has shown.
“The national unity can be made stronger following the guidance of Falgunanda, the symbol of love and non-violence who dedicated his entire life for the promotion of the Kirant language, script, culture, education and social reforms,” Chief Minister Karki said and stressed on taking the nation ahead on the basis of dialogue, collaboration and coexistence.
Mahaguru Falgunanda was born in Ilam of Koshi province in 1885. The government declared him as a National Luminary on December 1, 2009.
The Koshi province government has been giving a public holiday in the province on the occasion of the Falgunanda Jayanti (the birth anniversary of Mahaguru Falgunanda).(RSS)
