Kathmandu, Dec 4: Kathmandu Gurkhas registered its first victory in the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) defeating Karnali Yaks by 3 wickets on Wednesday at Kirtipur, Kathmandu.
Kathmandu achieved the target of 150 runs posted by Karnali in 19.3 overs losing 7 wickets by making 153 runs.
To make their team winner Kathmandu Gurkhas batsmen Sumit Maharjan scored 40, Gerhard Erasmus scored 38, Karan KC scored 28, Michael Levitt scored 22 runs, Bhim Sharki scored 9 runs, Shankar Rana scored 6 and Stephen Eskinazi scored 3 runs.
Karnali’s bowlers Nandan Yadav, Gulsan Jha, Sompal Kami, Zeeshan Maqsood and Bipin Sharma took a single wicket each.
In the first inning, Karnali scored 149 runs with the help of Shikhar Dhawan’s not-out 72 runs by losing 5 wickets.
Chadwick Walton scored 21 runs, Zeeshan Maqsood scored 14, Babar Hayat 13, Gulsan Jha 12 and Arjun Gharti hit four runs to score a respectable total against Kathmandu.
