Kathmandu, Dec 6: Karnali Yaks registered its first win in the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) defeating Chitwan Rhinos on Friday at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.
Karnali achieved the target of 131 runs posted by Chitwan in 19.5 overs making 132 runs in a loss of 4 wickets.
To make Karnali the winner batsmen Shikhar Dhawan scored 45 runs, Chadwick Walton scored 30 runs, Dev Khanal scored 25 runs, Zeeshan Maqsood scored 12 and Arjun Gharti scored 11 runs.
Chitwan’s bowlers Kushal Malla, Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton and Ravi Bopara took a single wicket each.
Earlier, Chitwan prepared a total of 130 runs in the stipulated 20 overs with the half-century of Ravi Bopara.
Bopara scored 59 runs, captain Kushal Malla scored 23 and Bipin Rawal hit 11 runs but could not make a big total to stop Karnali from its victory.
Chitwan’s other batsmen couldn’t score runs in double digits.
To minimize Chitwan to 130 runs Karnali’s Bipin Sharma took 3 wickets alone. Similarly, Zeeshan Maqsood took two wickets and Sompal Kami and Nandan Yadav took a single wicket each.
