Supreme Court to bring backlog cases to zero in current fiscal year

Kathmandu, Dec.6: The Supreme Court has aimed to reduce old cases from the last eight years to zero in the current fiscal year.

Supreme Court said so while managing the court hearing process in Supreme Court through a lucky draw on Friday.

According to Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut, there are a total of 154 cases that have exceeded the 8-year mark and the aim is to bring all the staggering backlog cases to zero under the plan made by the court.

He said that zero hours is utilized for institutional improvement in the Supreme Court.

He said,” There are around staggering 154 backlog cases that are eight years old. We have the target to bring them down to zero. Under the plan of the Supreme Court, all the 154 backlogs will be brought down to zero till the end of the fiscal year.”

“We have utilized zero hours for institutional improvement,” he said.

. The court gave this information during the process of managing the appearance through the court’s round system.
