Rampur, Dec.26: The five months payroll of the 26 health workers and staff working at Rampur Hospital in Palpa is still due.
Health workers and employees working from the Hospital Development Committee and partner organizations have been without salary since last August.
Employees are not paid their salaries owing to the vacant post of chairperson in the 50-bed hospital under the Lumbini Provincial government.
Employees are facing problems because of a lack of payroll for the last five months.
One employee said, “We did not get a salary in Dashain, the greatest festival of Hindus in the country, nor in Tihar (another major festival). This is December and our salary dues are yet to be cleared.”
19 staff employed through the Hospital Development Committee and seven employed through partner organizations are to receive their salary dues.
The salaries of doctors, staff nurses, health assistants, pharmacy assistants, lab assistants, assistant accountants, watchmen, drivers, and office assistants have not been paid.
