Kathmandu, Dec.27: The National Disaster Risk Reduction And Management Authority (NDRRMA) has requested to exercise caution, based on the weather information received by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology that there will be a change in the country’s weather starting this afternoon.
Dijan Bhattarai, spokesperson of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority under the Home Ministry has urged all to be cautious of the cold and cold waves will spike as it can lead to cold-related health risks.
He said that there will be snowfall in the highlands and Himalayan areas, rain in some places, and cold waves in the plains.
There is a probability partially to generally rainfall in many areas of the country from Friday evening owing to western disturbance.
There is a probability of snowfall in the majority of areas in high lands and hilly areas of Sudur Paschim province and Karnali province while light to moderate snowfall fall can be observed in some parts of the high hills and hilly areas of Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi Province, stated the report of the Metrological Forecasting Division.
There will be light to moderate rainfall in many areas of Sudur Paschim Province and Karnali Province while some areas of Lumbini Province will receive light to moderate rainfall. Meanwhile, there is a probability of light rainfall in some areas of Gandaki, Bagmati, Madhesh, and Koshi Province of the county.
