Tremor felt in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Jan.2: An earthquake of 4.8 Richter scale was felt in Kathmandu district and vicinity at 1:02 PM today.

The tremor had its epicenter at Majhitar of Sindhupalchok district, according to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre (NEMRC).

According to the NEMRC, an earthquake of magnitude 4.8 has been recorded with its epicenter at Majhitar of Sindhupalchok district.

According to NEMRC spokesperson Monika Jha, today’s shock has been felt as an aftershock of the 2072 (2015) Gorkha earthquake.
