South Korea’s Ambassador pledges more jobs to Nepalis

Kathmandu, Jan 9: South Korean Ambassador to Nepal, Park Tae-Young, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Labour, Employment, and Social Security, Sharat Singh Bhandari, on Thursday.

During the meeting held at the Ministry, the two discussed various aspects of bilateral labour agreements, according to Ministry Joint Spokesperson Basanta Bahadur Bohara. The meeting focused on facilitating the timely departure of Nepali workers who have successfully completed the EPS (Employment Permit System), addressing concerns related to workers selected for shipbuilding and other sectors.

In response, the Ambassador said the South Korean government highly values Nepali workers and pledged to continue hiring, including those already listed in the roster. He said South Korea is positive towards increasing the number of Nepali workers hired and committed to further cooperation in enhancing their skills and exploring job opportunities for more Nepalis.(RSS)
