India Women defeat Ireland by 304 runs

Kathmandu, Jan 15: India Women defeated Ireland Women by 304 runs in the 3rd  One Day International match at Rajkot on Wednesday.

Batting first India women scored a huge total of 435 runs in the stipulated 50 overs with centuries from Pratika Rawal and captain Smriti Mandhana, and a half-century from Richa Ghosh.

Rawal, Mandhana and Ghosh scored 154, 135 and 59 runs respectively.

Similarly, Tejal Hasabnis hit 28 runs, Harleen Deol hit 15, Deepti Sharma 11 and Jemimah Rodrigues hit 4 runs.

In response, Ireland Women scored 131 runs before being all out in 31.4 overs.

To wrap up Ireland in a slim total India’s Deepti Sharma took 3 wickets whereas Tanuja Kanwar took two wickets. Titas Sadhu, Sayali Satghare and Minnu Mani took a single wicket each.

Ireland’s Sarah Forbes scored 41 runs, Orla Prendergast hit 36 runs, Leah Paul hit 15 and Laura Delany scored 10 runs but were not been able to save their country from a huge margin loss with India.

Ireland’s other batsmen remained to fail to hit runs in double digits.
