Feature news writing training for Nepali journalists in Europe

The Federation of Nepali Journalist, Portugal and Belgium chapters hosted a one-day ‘feature news writing’ training for Nepali journalists in Europe. In the virtual training held on Saturday, journalist Tirtha Koirala and Babita Basnet trained the participating journalists on various aspect of feature news writing including the selection of topic, attractive presentation, issues of mass concern and structure. On the occasion, journalist Koirala emphasized on the need to give emphasis in purity in language, clarity in writing and impartiality in presentation of news while Basnet urged the journalists to include the pain and concerns of the non-resident Nepali through feature news writing. FNJ central vice-chair Dilip Thapamagar pointed out the importance of the importance of regular training for journalists and wished for the success of the virtual training. A total of 24 journalists based in Portugal, Belgium, Spain, Germany, France, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Denmark and Nepal took part in the training.
