Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has repeatedly warned that the government is on the verge of collapsing due to conspiracies. Prachanda has also warned of protests against the government. Speaking in Surkhet last Thursday, he opposed the government and expressed his commitment to lead a movement against it.
There are many attempts to break the alliance from the reactionaries. Inaugurating the party’s three-month campaign on Saturday in Chandragiri, he declared, “I am determined to go to millions and millions of people and lead the movement against those who will remove me, whether I am in office for 15 days, one month, or two months. I already did.
He said that there is a conspiracy to remove him and he has also shocked Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba by saying that there is a possibility that he will lead the government for the full term. “It has been eight months now, there is no need to step down, maybe I won’t have to step down for five years, I think, if the people support us, the alliance will last for five years,” he added.
In a message mass meeting of the Socialist Front on Thursday in Surkhet, he criticized corruption, saying, “I don’t need anything, I don’t need anything for a few days, whatever is needed for the nation, revolution, and achievements, I don’t care how long this government lasts; the people will see who will remove it, and I will watch.”
He also warned that he would hit the streets if he had to step down. “After the monsoon, thousands of people will bring corruption to the streets for national, livelihood, and social justice. The government makes a mistake by taking the people to the streets as beggars and thieves.”
This kind of expression by Prachanda has put psychological pressure on him. Although Prime Minister Dahal has not openly said who is behind the conspiracy to topple the government, he sees that Deuba and other external forces within and outside the alliance are sending a clear message.

Nepali Congress spokesperson Min Vishwakarma has expressed concern over the frequent warning statements from the Prime Minister and Home Minister, stating that they are causing doubts. He said, “The government’s good governance campaign lacks transparency and raises questions about the process, as well as points out some flaws. When asked for an explanation, the government tries to divert attention. Isn’t this reminiscent of a tiger eating something it’s not supposed to? This is the question being raised.”
As the Maoist Transformation Campaign, started by Dahal’s government, gains momentum, Dahal claims that despite having only 32 seats in his party, his leadership remains strong for political reasons.
In his statement, he has also directed the government’s work towards the fight against corruption, social justice, and his recent trip to India. He has stated that he has found discrepancies in the government’s work compared to the 6,743 villages in the country. The Maoists will discuss and make decisions on government work, parliament, and the streets in all villages, as per the source.
Regarding the Lalita Niwas land scam, he said that they would investigate it. He also expressed doubt about the government because of the investigation against Madhav Kumar Nepal, Madhav Nepal. Dahal mentioned that it’s not just Madhav Nepal’s name; even he felt tension. He claimed that he had instructed the police not to spare anyone involved in the party. “I have given clear instructions not to spare anyone, even if they are from my party,” he said.
The current government, under Prachanda’s leadership, is not ready to step down, even after completing eight months. Congress leaders claim that the government is shaky, especially for political reasons.
Due to the anti-corruption campaign, the government is seen as “Safe Side.” While the country is facing economic difficulties, inflation, and other problems, the criticism is limited. The remaining investigations, including the fake Bhutanese refugee, Lalita Niwas, and the Sunar case, are seen as a challenge for the government. Sources close to the government say there hasn’t been a deep conversation between Prime Minister Dahal and Deuba in recent times. Especially after the fake Bhutanese refugee case, tensions have arisen between them.
