Ruling coalition meeting over, to be held again

Kathmandu, Jan 4: The chief whip of the Nepali Congress Ramesh Lekhak said that the agreement has not been reached regarding the split of the seats in the National Assembly election. 

The four parties of the ruling coalition which sat in a meeting in the Prime Minister’s Official Residence in Baluwatar on Thursday could not finalize the seat split. 

In a press brief after a meeting, chief whip Lekhak said that discussion took place between the leaders of the four parties of the government, Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Centre), Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), and CPN (Unified Socialist), but, could not reach to conclusion in line with division of seats for the National Assembly election. The meeting reached its conclusion to be held again on Thursday night and Friday morning. 

Chief Whip Lekhak, said, “The leaders of the four political parties that are in the government had held a discussion. The meeting took place between leaders of the four parties of the government, Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Centre), Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), and CPN (Unified Socialist), mainly on the topic of the National Assembly. Further discussion is yet to be done, the meeting has ended to be held again on Thursday night and Friday morning.” 

He said that the discussion of contemporary political issues is being held with CPN (UML). 

He said, “The discussion is being held with CPN (UML) about the contemporary political issues, therefore, dialogue with UML has been continued about the current political issues, along with dialogues on the coalition. Meanwhile, discussion about the division of seats in the national assembly election is being held with parties of the ruling coalition.”
