Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Paudel, aiming to strengthen the democratic system by resolving issues promptly in the country, engaged in discussions with the top leaders of the three major political parties to move forward.
President Paudel held discussions with Prime Minister and Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ Chairman of the main opposition party, the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) K P Sharma Oli, and President of the Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba at Sheetal Niwas on Friday.
Highlighting crucial issues witnessed in the country, President Paudel, according to his press advisor Kiran Pokharel, emphasized on implementing federalism, improving governance, and enhancing reforms in universities.
According to him, the President urged the parties to work together for the effective implementation of federalism, empowering provinces with more rights, and immediately formulating laws through consensus.
Additionally, in the course of these discussions, Paudel, focusing on establishing justice, informed leaders about his intention to ensure sustainable governance.
Pokharel, the press advisor, disclosed that President Paudel has drawn attention to the positive reception of his initiatives by the leaders, emphasizing the constructive nature of the discussions.
President Paudel, who holds a position as Vice-Chancellor at Tribhuvan University, has also urged leaders to contribute to the university’s improvement campaign, leveraging their intellectual capabilities.
The leaders positively acknowledged President Paudel’s initiatives and highlighted the importance of his engagement in a constructive manner, as mentioned by Sheetal Niwas.”
