Dhurkot gets best score in institutional capacity

Gulmi, Jan. 31: Of two municipalities and 10 rural municipalities in Gulmi district, Dhurkot Rural Municipality has achieved the highest score in the Local Government Institutional Capacity Self-Assessment (LISA). 

According to the LISA result based on the work evaluation of the Fiscal Year 2022/023, Dhurkot stood first by obtaining 93.75 per cent followed by Chandrakot and Rurukshetra rural municipalities at 93.25 per cent and Musikot Municipality at 91.5 per cent. 

Similarly, Madane Rural Municipality achieved 91.25 per cent, Resunga Municipality 90.25 per cent, Kaligandagi Rural Municipality 90 per cent, Malika Rural Municipality 88.5 per cent, Satyawati Rural Municipality 88 per cent, Gulmi Darbar Rural Municipality 86.25 per cent, Isma Rural Municipality 85.5 per cent  and Chhatrakot Rural Municipality 82.25 per cent.

Rurukshetra Rural Municpality’s chief administrative officer Laxman Pandey informed that the evaluation was carried out in accordance with the LISA Guideline-2077 BS. He added that the evaluation was carried out in 10 different areas, including governmental management, organisation and administration, annual budget and plan management, financial and economic management, service delivery, judicial performance, physical infrastructure, social inclusion, environmental conservation and disaster management, coordination and collaboration. The results were presented in the assessment of 100 indicators for each area.

Since the Fiscal Year 2019/020, the evaluation has been carried out to identify strengths and weaknesses of work procedures and achievements of the local levels.
