Mobile camp launched in Shahidbhoomi

Dhankuta,Feb.1: Shahidbhoomi Rural Municipality in Dhankuta has launched integrated mobile camps to extend essential services to the people by reaching out to various villages.

Manoj Rai, Rural Municipality Chairman, informed that the rural municipality recently organised a one-day satellite clinic at Dhap in Ward No. 1 on January 28. The clinic focused on long-term family planning services, including a one-day satellite clinic providing Intrauterine Contraceptive Device (IUCD) and implant services.

While the primary goal is to serve children, the elderly, and disabled citizens in all seven wards of the municipality, mobile camps have been conducted in each ward to provide services to all citizens, Rai said. On the first day camp in Dhap, over 250 patients received health check-ups, 20 individuals were issued disability identity cards and 32 senior citizens received blankets.

As of Tuesday, the camp examined 208 individuals for their health, issued disability identity cards to 44 people out of the 140 tested for disability and distributed blankets to 111 senior citizens aged between 80 and 84 years. In addition to distributing general health equipment to communities and clubs, 15 stretchers, and services such as VIA examination and family planning were extended to 68 individuals, excluding those with disabilities.

Considering the winter conditions, blankets were also distributed to senior citizens during the camp. Medical Superintendent of Dhankuta District Hospital Dr. Amitabh Thakur, along with a team of doctors, conducted examinations for cervical cancer, breast cancer, organ failure, etc. 

The camp was held at Chhintang Sambu village health post on January 29, Khoku health post on 30, and is scheduled to conclude with a tour camp at the ward office and Chamcha Community Health Unit on the 31.

The initiative demonstrates the municipality’s commitment to providing comprehensive health services and support to its residents, fostering community well-being and healthcare accessibility.
