High-level Probe Commission on gold smuggling submits report

Kathmandu, Mar 14: The High-level Probe Commission formed to investigate gold smuggling has submitted a report to the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.  

Chairperson of the Commission Dilli Ram Acharya handed the report to Home Minister Lamichhane at Singha Durbar on Thursday. 

The High-level Probe Commission formed to investigate gold smuggling submitted the report five and half months after its formation. 

Receiving the report, Home Minister Lamichhane said that the suggestions will be implemented. He said that the action will be taken against the guilty and suggested measures for improvement will be implemented. 

Saying that things he percept is sent in written form to the Commission, Home Minister Lamichhane expects that the report will help to curb illegal gold smuggling. 

He said, “Action will be taken against agencies or individuals found at fault.  Those offered immunity in the past will also be brought under the law. 

He said that he would be in charge of facing challenges that come while implementing suggestions.
