Kathmandu, Mar 18: Vice Chairman of the ruling CPN (Maoist Center) Krishna Bahadur Mahara has been brought to Kathmandu. He was taken under control on Monday morning in connection to the gold smuggling case.
According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Bhim Prasad Dhakal Spokesperson of Nepal Police, Mahara has been brought to Kathmandu from Kapilvastu. Mahara was arrested on Monday morning from Pakadi, Mayadevi Rural Municipality, Kapilvastu.
A high-level probe commission formed under the chairmanship of former judge Dilliraj Acharya to investigate gold smuggling recommended action against Mahara in a gold smuggling case on Sunday.
Earlier, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) Nepal Police had taken a statement and later released him.
