Kathmandu, Aug.6: The Department Of Hydrology and Meteorology has requested all to take high vigilance as the water level in rivers of Kathmandu Valley has crossed the danger level.
The department has sent a message on the mobile phones requesting settlements near the river embankment of Kathmandu to exercise high vigilance saying that flood measuring centres in Gaurighat of Bagmati River, Khokana, and Manohara, have crossed the danger level and are persistently rising.
The water from the river is likely to come on roadsides and human settlements, therefore, those who are travelling or are locals in the river areas are requested to be on a high alert till 5 PM on Tuesday.
Earlier, the department had issued an alert to villages and settlements near the river embankment saying that the water level in the flood measuring centre in Manohara was nearing danger level at 3:30 AM on Tuesday. (Translated from RSS)
