Foreign Minister leaves for five-day official visit to India

Kathmandu, Aug 18: Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba has left here for New Delhi on an official visit to India (August 18-22) at the cordial invitation of her Indian counterpart S. Jaishanker.

This is her first visit to the southern neighbour since she assumed the office. 

During the visit, the Foreign Affairs Minister will have a bilateral meeting with her Indian counterpart, focusing on the matters of bilateral interests, cooperation and the strengthening of bilateral relations. 

Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) to see off the Minister who is accompanied by Chief of South Asia Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bhrigu Dhungana. 

According to the Ministry, the visit is a part of exchange of high-level visits between Nepal and India. The visit is expected to consolidate the old-age, deep and multifaceted bilateral relations. 

The Minister is scheduled to return home on August 22.  (RSS)
