Kathmandu, Sept.25: Minister for Foreign Affairs Arzu Rana Deuba held bilateral meetings with foreign ministers from various countries in New York on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
On Tuesday, Foreign Minister Deuba held a separate bilateral meeting with her South Korean and Philippines counterpart.
Discussions on how the two countries have moved forward with relations based on friendship, mutual respect, and understanding and to further strengthen the relation in the coming days were made in the bilateral meeting between Nepali foreign minister Dueba and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Cho Tae-yul.
In the meeting, various aspects of Nepal-Korea relations, mutual interests, and common interests along with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Korea, which both countries are celebrating this year, were discussed.
Dr Rana expressed gratitude on behalf of the government of Nepal to Korea for providing employment opportunities to Nepali citizens through the EPS system and scholarships offered by the government of South Korea.
Likewise, the courtesy call was paid between Dr Rana and Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines Enrique A. Manalo on Tuesday.
Mutual interests, common interests and possible future cooperation and coordination were discussed during the meeting.
In the same meeting, Dr Rana asked for support from the Philippines as Nepal has given its candidacy in the Human Rights Council, and Security Council of the United Nations.
