Ramechhap, Oct.16: Flights on the Manthali-Lukla route have resumed after a two-day closure due to adverse weather in the Khumbu area of Solukhumbu district. Lukla Airport in the neighboring Solukhumbu district remained shut for two days due to bad weather. This morning, with the weather clearing up in Lukla, flights between Manthali and Lukla have resumed.   

Deputy Manager of the Civil Aviation Authority of Manthali Hiranya Sah said that the Manthali-Lukla flight started at 9 AM on Wednesday after the weather cleared.

He said, “Flights on the Manthali-Lukla route were shut down for two days due to adverse weather in the Khumbu area of Solukhumbu district. Flights have been resumed since the early morning of Wednesday. More than 10 flights have taken off with an hour of flight resume.” 

 More than 1,000 tourists are stuck because of the closure of domestic flights on the Manthali-Lukla route on Monday and Tuesday.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has made a provision to arrange flights from Manthali of Ramechaap to Lukla during the Spring (from March to May) and Autumn (October to December) season. 

 More than 1,000 tourists are stuck because of the closure of domestic flights on the Manthali-Lukla route on Monday and Tuesday.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has made a provision to arrange flights from Manthali of Ramechaap to Lukla during the Spring (from March to May) and Autumn (October to December) season. 

Aircraft of Sita, Tara, and Summit airlines are used to fly to Manthali-Lukla. Around 14-15 tourists are accommodated in a single flight while 60 tourists reach their Lukla destination through flights in a day.
