We are not in favor of monarchy or capitalist system: Chairman Oli

Kathmandu, June 29 : The Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal, (UML) K.P. Sharma Oli, has stated that they are not in favor of monarchy or a capitalist system. On Thursday, on the occasion of the 72nd birth anniversary of former General Secretary Madan Bhandari, the Madan Bhandari Foundation organized a discussion on the topic ‘Dimensions and Characteristics of Marxism’ and a ceremony to distribute awards.

Chairman Oli addressed the event and stated that they are in favor of socialism. He mentioned that they have included the vocabulary of socialism, including equality and social justice, in their proposal for the constitution of Nepal. He said, “We do not belong to the side of limited individuals who become rich through monarchy or a capitalist system based on innate superiority. We are in favor of a full democracy with equality and social justice.”

He mentioned that they should remain unchanged to bring about societal transformation. Oli said, “We may lose battles at times, but the revolution never loses, and we must continue steadfastly for the transformation of society. This is also the guidance of Marxism.”

He mentioned the issues of hunger and poverty in the country and emphasized the need to give importance to development and human rights until they are completely eradicated. His statement was “Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis” before becoming the Prime Minister. He stated that he presented the national aspiration in line with the multi-party people’s democracy advocated by the 9th dimension of PMD(Peoples multiparty Democracy).

Referring to Nepal as a land of knowledge and meditation, Chairman Oli connected the heritage and contribution of ancestors with the political parties and the people to make Nepal a prosperous and vibrant land.

Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari released the book “Dishabodh” during the program. The foundation has published it.
